CHAMPIONS REUNION SET FOR SUNDAY DURING OKTOBERFEST RACING WEEKEND
West Salem, WI – The inaugural “Champions Reunion” has been set for Sunday, October 11, from 11am-2pm in the United Auto Supply Hospitality Chalet at the La Crosse Fairgrounds Speedway, West Salem, WI as part of the 40th Annual Oktoberfest Racing Weekend October 8-11, 2009.
All previous Oktoberfest event champions in any division of racing the past 40 years as well as all Track and Touring Series titlists outside of Oktoberfest racing are welcome to attend. All will be recognized during the day and served food and beverage. “Oktoberfest is such an established tradition in the Midwest, we have decided to recognize the drivers from all tracks and tours as part of this nostalgic event,” stated Speedway President Gregg McKarns.
The event will also present a great opportunity for fans to meet and greet the Champions from days gone by. Oktoberfest main event race winner, ARTGO, ASA and many time feature race champion at La Crosse Fairgrounds Speedway, Dick Trickle, is just one of the many Championship drivers expected to be on hand for the event. Fans with a Sunday ticket will be able to meet and greet the former stars. “I can’t wait to hear some of the stories or tall tales during this fun event,” added McKarns.
In addition to the Champions Reunion, a “Racers’ Roundtable” will be held on Saturday Oct. 10 in conjunction with the annual Memorabilia Show at Fairgrounds Exhibition Center and the Big Red Barn. Trickle is slated to be the master of ceremonies of this added event.
The inaugural “Champions Reunion” event will be hosted by Starmaker Multimedia of Onalaska, and company representative Dale P. Danielski whom is looking forward to the day. “It’s great to recognize the many race and series champions that have competed and won through the years both at Oktoberfest and throughout the Nation, for that matter. They all literally paved the way for the exciting racing action that fans are fortunate to be able to witness today.”
“We are asking any and all Champion race drivers regardless of what division raced in to indicate intentions of attending the event,” stated Danielski. “So, that we can properly recognize you during the event.”
If you are a former Champion and wish to attend this fun event, please contact Dale P. Danielski at 608-783-5827 or at dale@starmakermultimedia.com (or by mail to: Starmaker Multimedia, 967 10th Ave N Ste A, Onalaska, WI 54650) by October 7, 2009.
