Ross Kenseth repeats as the 2009 Big 8 Series Oktoberfest winner. He also wins the 2009 Big 8 Series Championship.
Last race of the night is up, the Mid-American Series 40-lap feature.

Steve Carlson wins the ASA Late Model Series North Oktoberfest 100 by a half a car length over Jacob Goede. Ross Kenseth was third.
Big 8 Series Feature is coming up.

Scott Broughton wins the Big 8 Series last chance race with Jon Baumeister Jr. in second. Shane Poehnelt was in third with Doug Brown in fourth. Jay Foster rounded out the top-five. Those five will advance to the Big 8 Series feature later tonight.

Bobby Gutknecht wins the first Mid-American heat while Louie Goss wins the second heat. Mike Lichtfield wins the third heat.

Congratulations to the Jonathan Eilen team for winning the 2009 Oktoberfest Best Appearing Car & Crew competition.
5:35 PM Update
Boris Jurkovic and Mark Kraus won the ASAMT fast qualifier heats.
Haseleu finished second in the odd heat with Carlson in fourth. Carlson's lead is now four points in the standings.
Tim Schendel won the first qualifier race with Jonathan Eilen in second and Donny Reuvers in third. Those three will advance to the Oktoberfest 100 tomorrow.
Chris Weinkauf would win the second qualifier race with Jamie Iverson in second. Jeff Storm was third. All three also advance to the feature tomorrow afternoon.
4:40 PM Update
Kyle Shear wins the first Big 8 qualifier with Dan Ryan in second.
Rich Schuman Jr. wins the second Big 8 qualifier with Cardell Potter in second.
Todd Korish won the third Big 8 qualifier with Andrew Kulka in second.
These six will advance to tonight's Big 8 feature.
4:15 PM Update
My apologies for not staying updated...but here we go.
Steve Carlson, for the second year in a row, sets the fast time for the ASAMT at the 40th Annual Oktoberfest Race Weekend at La Crosse Fairgrounds Speedway. Carlson had a fast time of 18.944 seconds. Steve Holzhausen was second with a time of 18.977 seconds with Kyle Calmes having a great qualifying run as he was third with a 19.032 seconds. Mike Carlson was fourth with a time of 19.036 seconds while Chris Wimmer rounds out the top-five with a time of 19.050 seconds.
Nathan Haseleu qualified 17th with a time of 19.223 seconds. With Carlson setting the fast time, he currently has an eight-point lead over Haseleu after qualifying. Wimmer gained ten points and is now only 42 points behind.
Bill Prietzel was the fast qualifier in Mid-American Stock Car Series.

Steve Carlson was the fastest in ASA Late Model Series North Division qualifying time of 19.252 seconds. Jacob Goede was second with a time of 19.300 seconds. Russ Blakeley was third with a time of 19.342 seconds. Chris Eggleston was fourth with a time of 19.365 seconds and Griffin McGrath rounded out the top-five with a 19.407 seconds.
American Speed Association Midwest Tour qualifying is next.
1:30 PM Update
Steve Rubeck was the fast qualifier in Big 8 Series qualifying with a 20.247 seconds. Jeremy Miller was second with a 20.315 seconds with Adam Degenhardt in third with a 20.351 seconds. Mike Ehde was fourth with a time of 20.381 seconds and Skylar Holzhausen rounded out the top-five with a lap time of 20.413 seconds.
ASA Late Model Series North is out qualifying now.
12:55 PM Update
Big 8 Series qualifying is underway. Tim Sauter was the fastest in ASAMT practice with Boris Jurkovic in second and Steve Carlson in third.
11:35 AM Update
Practice has just ended for the ASA Late Model Series North Division. Jim Duchow was the fastest with a 19.441 seconds. Jacob Goede was second with a 19.443 seconds and Griffin McGrath was third with a 19.446 seconds. Ross Kenseth was fourth with a 19.465 seconds and Steve Carlson rounded out the top-five with a 19.473 second lap.

Good Morning from a sunny, yes sunny, La Crosse Fairgrounds Speedway. The snow the predicted did not come through the area and we are on schedule for today. It is a little cool outside, but the pits are full and we expect a great day of racing at the 40th Annual Oktoberfest Race Weekend. Qualifying will get underway at 12:20 pm with racing at 4:00 pm.
